Brow lamination has without a doubt been one of the biggest beauty trends of 2020. Let’s be honest, it’s the treatment we never knew we needed. In fact, according to Yelp's recent report searches for 'brow lamination' are up a whopping 86,196% since 2019.
When it comes to brow lamination, I’ve tried it all. Professional lamination by a brow technician (in a salon, remember those?), at-home lamination kits, and countless products on the market which promise to achieve that laminated, fluffy look.
So, when an email popped into my inbox with the subject line “Brow lamination: volunteers needed”, I replied immediately. I last had my brows laminated in July 2020 by my brow tech, and I miss the way it makes my face look more framed and lifted.
With most of us now spending more time at home and turning to at-home treatments, the search is on for the ultimate at-home brow lamination product. One that will help us fake that fluffy, perfectly groomed brow look with minimal effort. This is where the Revolution 2-in-1 Laminate Brow comes into play...
What is Brow Lamination?
First of all, let me talk you through what brow lamination actually is and why it's so fantastic (and dare I say… life-changing). Essentially, brow lamination is like a perm for your brows. It aims to straighten out your hairs to give them a more uniformed shape with results lasting for around 4-6 weeks. It’s an amazing treatment to consider if you have naturally curly hair or unruly brow hairs that tend to grow downwards.
A bit about my brows...
As you'll see from the images, my brow hairs are extremely stubborn to hold up and naturally grow down.
For me, a brow lamination product has to tick several boxes:
1:It has to hold up my stubborn brows
2:It has to make my brows look fluffy and not crispy
3:An added pencil to fill in hairs would be a bonus
A bit about Revolution’s new Laminate Brow Product…
Featuring an angled pencil on one side and a brow gel brush on the other, this 2-in-1 product offers serious sculpt and staying power in two simple steps.
Step 1:After brushing the brows with a spoolie, fill in any sparse areas and add definition by creating hair-like strokes with the angled pencil (tip: for a feathery look focus on the arch).
Step 2:Next, laminate and set your brows in place with the brow gel brush for a full, brushed-up look (even on sparse brows). For serious sculpt and staying power, apply another coat of the brow gel if extra lamination is desired.
Tip:If you want to achieve an even stronger hold or fluffier look, add in the Revolution Brow Soap Styler.
Why I’m SO impressed with this product
What I *really* love about this product is how easy it to get that laminated look. The gel is the perfect consistency for a weightless hold without ever feeling heavy or 'crispy' on the brows. I also love that the brow pencil is angled, with an ultra-fine tip to create hair-like strokes, but you have the option to fill in for more definition if that’s your thing too. Plus, the staying power is unreal - it even withheld my afternoon HiiT class for longer than I did. So that’s a major win for me.
So if, like me, you’re a laminate addict, or you’re keen to try this trend (but don’t want the commitment of a professional treatment) - give this a go. Simple application, salon results – no brow tech needed!
I hope you love this product as much as I do. Be sure to tag @makeuprevolution in your before and after results, too. We’d love to see them!
