Statement responding to Lunar Beauty
Revolution were presented this component by several third parties at a publicly attended trade fair in March 2019 and were led to believe that it was a freely available design. Our product – part of Revolution’s Glass Collection - launched in February 2020. We were unaware of Lunar Beauty’s product launch. On launch of our product, Lunar Beauty’s legal team contacted us, but, despite our requests, failed to supply any evidence of his alleged copyright or trade dress right in his design, or even to identify or provide images or illustrations of the product that he claimed were at issue.
Having seen MannyMUA’s video, released on Sunday 15 March 2020, in which he produces documentation purportedly showing the componentry tooling of his product (even if not any protectable copyright or trade dress rights in that product), as a matter of courtesy and out of an abundance of caution, we have taken the immediate steps to remove the product from sale and will notify our distributors to do the same.
Our intention is not to crush the spirit of entrepreneurialism. Our intention is to make beauty trends affordable for all. We do our best not to make mistakes like this, but if we do, we take steps to make things right. And for that reason, we have acted quickly and passionately.
We have reached out to Manny to discuss this privately
We all know that one person with perfect skin – super glowy, poreless, dewy, yet not shiny or oily. Natural, but not like when I do a natural look and everyone tells me I look tired. Skin so baby-soft you start to wish it was socially acceptable to stroke a stranger’s face. This can’t just be me, right?
Turns out there’s a name for it – glass skin. Originally from Korea and stemming from skincare, ‘glass skin’ is skin that looks just that – as clear and radiant as glass. We can’t all be #blessed with perfect glowy skin, so we’re fusing this k-beauty trend with makeup so we can all achieve crystal clear skin goals.
Step 1: Prep
As this trend is all about gorgeous skin, prepping with skincare is important. Our favourites for baby-soft, poreless skin are the Revolution Skincare Glycolic Acid, 2% Hyaluronic Acid Plumping & Hydrating Serum, 15% Niacinamide, and Hydration Boost.
Step 2: Prime
There’s #teamshimmer and #teamdew when it comes to glass skin. Personally, I can’t pull off dewiness, so I opt for more of a radiant shimmer with our Glass Liquid Skin Illuminating Skin Primer. However, if you dig dew go for our Ultimate Dewy Finish Glass Skin Primer for a smooth glowing finish.
Step 3: Base
Perfect with your favourite base. We love Conceal & Hydrate foundation and concealer for a hydrated satin finish that’s perfect for this trend.
Step 4: Fix
Once again, we have two options to customise your glass skin finish. #Teamshimmer grab Glass Shimmer Fix. This iridescent fixing spray leaves skin glowing with hydration, whilst subtle shimmer particles create the unmistakable glass skin glow. #Teamdew our Glass Glow Fix is for you. The ultimate dewy fixing spray sets makeup in place with a gorgeous hydrated finish.
Step 5: Shadow
Enhance your look with our ultra-pigmented shadows encased in a gorgeous diamond shaped palette. With a combination of shimmer and matte shadows to create a dazzling look.
Step 6: Gloss
No glass look is complete without a glossy lip. Our Glass Lip Gloss is the perfect clear, wet-look gloss for giving a glass lustre to your lips.
