What Causes Dark Circles Under Eyes?
Dark circles under the eyes often occur because of two skin concerns:
• Thinning Skin – as we age, our skin naturally gets thinner, especially around the eyes. This causes blood vessels to become more visible.
• Puffy Eyes - puffy eyes can cast dark shadows under the eyes, resulting in tired-looking eyes.
There are a number of factors, beyond a lack of sleep, that could be causing your under eye dark circles:
• Dehydrated skin
• Genetics
• Natural aging
• Hyperpigmentation
But how do you brighten under eye bags and awaken skin’s glow? At Revolution, we’ve put together a combination of skincare and makeup tips to help you cover dark circles and reduce the appearance of puffiness!
How To Conceal Dark Circles
Follow this simple routine to help reduce the appearance of eye bags and cover up those dark circles (even when a few extra hours of sleep aren’t possible!).
Step 1 – Depuff with Under Eye Patches
Kickstart your eye care routine with our Revolution Skin De-Puff Pillow Under Eye Patches. Enriched with hyaluronic acid, attracting moisture to the skin, keeping the under-eye area hydrated and smooth.
Apply then leave for 10-15 minutes before removing. Pat the excess serum into your under eye dark circles to help further boost the effects!

Step 2 – Apply a Targeted Under Eye Serum
When it comes to skin hydration, Hyaluronic Acid is our hero! It draws moisture to the skin and, because dehydration is one of the main causes of under eye bags, is the ultimate targeted treatment for dark circles.
The Revolution Skin Espresso Eye Lift Under Eye Serum contains 5% Caffeine to help depuff as well as hyaluronic acid to help hydrate and smooth – think of it like a double espresso for your dark circles!
Apply onto clean skin. Gently apply a pea-sized amount to the under-eye area using the rollerball, massaging lightly until fully absorbed. We also recommend you apply this twice daily (morning and night) for the best results!
Step 3 – Eye Cream for Under Eye Bags
For an added boost to help neutralize and cover your dark circles, try our Revolution Skin Wide Awake Brightening Eye Serum.
This hydrating, supercharged formula is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of puffiness and dark circles, leaving the under-eye area looking radiant and refreshed.
Gently apply a pea-sized amount to the under-eye area and massage lightly.

Step 4 – Time for Concealer
Now the prep is done, we have the ultimate concealing routine to help cover your dark circles all day long!
We have a multitude of concealers to choose from, but we’ve listed a few of our favourites, allowing you to select a formula to suit your needs perfectly!
If you’re looking for a brightening concealer, try the Revolution Skin Silk Radiant Serum Under Eye Brightener & Concealer. As the name suggests, this concealer is designed with dark circles under the eyes in mind. As well as buildable coverage in a weightless serum formula, powdered by hyaluronic acid, caffeine and squalane to hydrate, brighten and smooth the under-eyes.

If cream concealer is your thing, try the Makeup Revolution IRL Filter Finish Concealer. Available in 30 shades, the soft-matte finish provides the very best coverage for dark circles. This concealer helps to even out skin tone, conceal blemishes or dark circles and has a lightweight formula, all to help you conceal and brighten without drying out your skin.

And finally, for a full-coverage concealer, we recommend the Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer. This lightweight yet full coverage, matte finish concealer covers blemishes, evens skin tone and counteracts dark circles. The doe foot applicator allows for the smoothest application that won’t drag on delicate skin under your eyes.
